John Adams brought his drum to more than 4900 straight baseball games and he did this without pay.

Chip: I was a Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) fan as a kid, so I'm delighted I got to put these words to music. And I'm always up for a collab with @srcoops.

We had a man
John Adams
Was his name

Who brought
An old bass drum
He beat at
Indians Baseball games

The years went by
The seasons passed
John was ever faithful
He never missed a game

There in the outfield bleachers
He sat on the top row
He gave the kids the mallets
To pound it when they came

Now the drum sits silent
John has passed away
But in our hearts the drumming
Keeps on just the same
